Busoga stun Express to jump out of the red zone

Express FC are now winless in four league games stay 5th with 29 points.

Busoga United moved out relegation with a 1-0 win over Express FC on Friday at Kakindu Stadium.

Paul Ssekulima’s first half goal inspired Busoga maximum points over the reigning Uganda Premier league champions.

Express kick started life under the interim stewardship of James Odoch who replaced Wasswa Bbosa at the start of the week.

The loss to Busoga also ends the Red Eagles unbeaten run of 15 games.

Ssekulima fired the hosts into the lead with a great finish to send th home fans into a frenzy.

Deus Bukenya had a decent chance to level matters but headed over the bar.

Ngalo Fredrick came close to doubling the home side’s lead but his header went over. Goal scorer Ssekulima also had a chance to score a second but couldn’t beat Express FC custodian Joel Mutakubwa.

Busoga United held on to yet another win that moves them out of the red zone and are now 13th with 17 points.

Express FC are now winless in league four games stay 5th with 29 points.
