Crested Cranes chances of winning the CECAFA Women challenge cup were dented following a 2-2 all draw with hosts Rwanda.

Head coach Farida Bulega has thrown the blame to a congested fixture for her side which led to fatigue of her players.

“The fixture was very congested for us since we had only one day for resting then the following day we play. This led to fatigue of my players but I am pleased with the spirit they have shown during the tournament.”

Bulega also admits that the stalemate against Rwanda has hindered their chances of winning the Championship.

“The draw against Rwanda has hindered our chances of winning the championship this year. It’s no longer in our hands right now and so it’s unpredictable.”

The result takes Uganda on 7 points garnered from 4 games and are currently top of the 5-team round-robin table.
