BUL FC are in talks with Busoga United FC long serving midfielder and captain George Kasonko.

Kasonko is seen as a direct replacement for central midfielders Godfrey Akol and Richard Wandyaka who are linked to a move away from the club.

Swift Sports has learnt that Akol, who is a former central midfield partner with Kansoko at Kirinya Jinja SS, will have his contract expired at the end of this month.

Kasonko has played for Busoga United since 2013 while the club was still known as Kirinya Jinja SS.

He played a vital role in guiding the club to promotion to the topflight from the Big League in 2017 and helped them beat relegation in their debut season.

He was once again key as Busoga United survived relegation by a whisker last season.

Kasonko has been a transfer target for BUL since last season.

BUL FC finished 11th with 33 points in the recently concluded season and will be targeting a better finish next season.

As earlier reported, the club agreed to offer Alex Isabirye a new employment contract as their head coach for the next season.
