BUL FC 0-1 Proline FC (Agg. 2-1)
BUL FC became the first team to book a place in this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup after eliminating holders Proline FC.
Despite losing the second leg 1-0 at Bugembe, BUL progressed to the semi finals 2-1 on aggregate having won the first leg encounter 2-0 at Lugogo.
Proline came into the second leg with an aim of scoring at least two an unanswered goals to level the aggregate but could only manage to score one.
Ivan Ocholit scored the lone goal of the game in the 40th minute as Proline hope for a comeback going into the second half.
Ocholit capitalized on a howler by BUL FC goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi who got hold of Diego Kizza’s header and spilled it in Ocholit’s way.
Before Ocholit’s goal scoring moment, Juma Ssebadduka came close to breaking the deadlock but his effort went a few inches wide after the former Express midfielder swiftly drove past three BUL midfielders.
Joseph Semujju who scored in the first leg, almost gave BUL the lead in the 16th minute but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato.
BUL FC held on in the second amidst the pressure from Proline and consequently qualified for the semi finals.
The Jinja based club will be taking part in the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi final for their second time in history, their first came in 2015 when they fell to the eventual winners SC Villa.
