Buganda Region 2-1 Uganda Kobs (U23)
Buganda Region select edged the Uganda Kobs 2-1 in a trial match played at Bukalasa agricultural institute in Luwero on Sunday 4th November.
A goal from each half from Ben Tahomera and Tazan Kambugu ensured victory for Alex Isabirye’s coach select. KCCA FC’s left full back Mustafa Kizza scored the lone goal for the Uganda Kobs.
Sebastien Desabre was in the Kobs dug out assisted by Wasswa Bbosa, Charles Ayiekoh and goalkeepers coach Sadiq Wassa.
Proline center back Mustafa Mujuzi captained the Kobs whereas former Express and SC Villa winger Sam Galiwango led the Buganda select.
Ben Tahomera opened the scoring with a free kick that deflected off Hassan Musana past Tom Ikara in goal in the 25th minute.
A minute into the second half, Vipers’ Geoffrey Wasswa nearly levelled the scoreline from the similar fashion but his effort cracked the cross bar.
Mustafa Kizza found the equalizer in the 69th minute after converting from the spot following a penalty won by Allan Kayiwa.
Tazan Kambugu restored Buganda’s lead and ultimately won it with a thunderbolt strike that found Ikara off his line with 15 minutes left to play.
The encounter was a test for the Uganda Kobs ahead of their two legged U-23 qualifier against South Sudan slated for 14th and 20th November.
