Buganda hands 10 hectares of land to FUFA for 20,000 seater capacity stadium.

Buganda kingdom signed a deal with the football governing body the Federation of Uganda Football Associations(FUFA).

The deal has seen Buganda kingdom offer a piece of land for the construction of a state of the art stadium which after completion will be home for the national team the Uganda Cranes.

Speaking at the hand over ceremony of the land title to FUFA at Kawolo division offices, the Katikiro of the kingdom Owk. Charles Peter Mayiga said;

“Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II blessed the request by FUFA to construct a stadium at Kawolo Lugazi. It is such a big opportunity to develop football.

The Katikiro on behalf of Buganda kingdom handed the land title to the FUFA president and there after, laid the foundation stone at the site.

The construction of a magnificent stadium will take place in the next five years and it is believed that it will be funded by FIFA through CAF and FUFA under the fund for influstracture development.
