Buddu start Masaza Cup campaign with comprehensive win over Ssese


Buddu opened their Masaza Cup journey with a 3-0 win over Islanders Ssese in the first Muganzirwaza Group game at Njeru.

Lanky striker Frank Ssebufu bagged a brace while Marvin Kavuma scored the third to ensure a comprehensive victory for the 2016 winners.

Ssebufu was well positioned to score the opener four minutes to the first half break from a Titus Ssematimba cross.

Ivan Bukenya had a chance to put the game to level one minute to halftime from the spot but his penalty was saved by goalkeeper Farouk Yawe.

Kavuma then doubled Buddu’s lead in the 72th minute before Sebuufu completed his brace nine minutes to full time.

At 3:00pm record champions Gomba will play against at Kabula.

The top two teams will be progressing to the quarter finals to join Busujju, Busiro, Mawokota, Mawogola, Busujju and defending Champions Bulemeezi.
