Buddo SS emerged 2018 victors in Uganda after defeating Blessed Sacrament Kimanya SS 1-0 in the final hosted at Mbarara High school. This was the second time Buddo claimed the championship with the first one coming in 2009.

Mrs. Maggie Kigozi, the Copa Coca-Cola Uganda marketing manager expressed excitement at the opportunity to bring the best youth footballers across the continent to one town to train and compete against each other.

“This tournament will give our talented players an opportunity to interact with and play against their counterparts from different countries who have been exposed to different standards of football.” She stated.

Last year, Pius Lutaaya and Joshua Sentamu both from St.Mary’s Kitende SS were selected during the Kenya Secondary School sports Association East Africa games to be part of the team that represented East Africa in the Copa Coca-Cola global cup Championships in Durban, South Africa.

Copa Coca-Cola is held in more than 60 countries across the globe with over a million participants annually. The main aim is to create the world’s largest and most inclusive football grassroots programme.

Coca-Cola has been a proud sponsor of the grassroots football for the last 25 years. The programme has helped in nurturing both local and international stars around the world.
