Following their opening day defeat to KCCA FC , Bright stars needed to make swift amendments to their game plan to avoid further slip ups down the table.

Unlike the more expressive free flowing approach employed at Kavumba, they went to Ndejje well aware that URA FC were also in search for a maiden victory after being held by Mbarara city on match day one and head coach Baker Mbowa wasn’t shy in admitting his tactical approach.

We were determined to get a result whatsoever in today’s match, it is a big point and we hope to build on that as the season goes on. Despite the point earned, I am not happy with the performance because our opponents took a direct approach “

Despite the tactical nous, luck was also on Mbowa’s side as URA missed close to 3 glorious opportunities that would have seen them walk away with all the 3 points .

Winger Michael Birungi was presented with the best opportunity on 38 minutes when he beat his market and turned to his strong foot . His powerful shot managed to beat Benson Wagima but it ended up rattling the top bar.

Towards the end of the first period, Bright Stars recieved two chances in succession but Joseph Janjali and Joseph Akandwanaho put them to waste.

Sam Ssimbwa the URA tactician made some reshuffle by introducing Mikidad Senyonga, Moses Seruyidde and Dickson Kigongo for Joachim Ojera, Julius Mutyaba and Michael Birungi but Bright Stars held onto their verve.

In counter action , Mbowa withdrew the ineffective Augustine Kacancu for Kiwanuka Henry and Kasinde Ibrahim later came on for Kiwanuka who failed to follow his boss’s game plan.
