Bright Stars 4-1 Kirinya Jinja SS

Bright Stars bounced back to the winning ways in remarkable style with a 4-1 win over Kirinya JSS at Mwererwe.

Nelson Senkatuka who was on target twice together with Brian Kayanja and Augustine Kacancu handed Bright Stars their biggest win in league since their promotion in 2013.

Kacancu drew first blood in the third minute of the game to claim his second goal of the season.

Senkatuka doubled the lead at the half hour mark to give Fred Kajoba’s side a comprehensive halftime lead.

Fred Amaku scored a penalty to give Charles Ayiekoh’s coached men hope of salvaging a point in the 62nd minute.

5 minutes later, Senkatuka restored Bright Stars’ two goal cushion a minute before Kirinya were reduced to ten men.

Striker Dan Sewava was sent for an early shower by referee William Oloya following a second bookable offense in the 69th minute.

This was the second time a Kirinya JSS player is sent off in two games – the other being Didi Muhammad against Vipers on Tuesday.

Brian Kayanja also registered his name on the score sheet with barely 8 minutes left on the clock.

The memorable win springs the Mwererwe outfit to the 4th place with 11 points. Kirinya JSS remain 11th placed with 6 points.

Next on card for Bright Stars is a trip to Ndejje University on Tuesday 6th November while Kirinya JSS will play against Nyamityobora at Wankulukuku on the same day.
