Bright Stars put relegation fighting Ndejje University to the sword at Mwererwe to end their 12-match winless streak.
The Fred Kajoba coached men had not won a league match since last December but goals from Jamil Kalisa, Juma Sebadduka and Brian Kayanja ensured that undesired record becomes history.
Kalisa was on target from a Dan Birikwalira throw in in 14th minute and his strike was the difference at halftime.
Ten minutes into the second period, Juma Sebadduka doubled the lead from a Nelson Senkatuka free kick.
Brian Kayanja put the icing on the cake with a sublime shot in the 81st minute moments after replacing Senkatuka.
Ndejje University found the back of the net through Robert Eseru 3 minutes to normal time but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Ndejje’s defender Joseph Othieno and midfielder Paul Ddumba were also cautioned for unsporting behavior in the closing stages of the game.
The win takes Bright Stars to the 10th place with 28 points while Ndejje stay in the relegation zone with 16 points.
Next on card for Ndejje University will be a home duel against Vipers on Tuesday 5th March which Bright Stars will visit Maroons a day after.
