Interim Vipers head coach Michael Ouma has been handed a somewhat not fancy welcome to Ugandan football when his team got held by a Bright stars who were on a 3 match losing streak.

The Kenyan coach who named an offensive side but his new charges failed to break down Bright stars who were also meeting the in form Dan Birikwalira being on loan from the visitors.

His day further got more bitter when first choice goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora sustained an injury after collision with his defender Halid Lwaliwa. In the process, Nelson Senkatuka’s goal was disallowed.

The hosts lacked their usual home advantage cutting edge due to the absence of the marauding Dan Birikwalira who has assisted almost 70% of their goals.

The result means that Bright stars have failed to beat Vipers in the last 10 meetings. The earned point keeps Vipers on tabs with leaders KCCA , 7 points separate the two but Vipers have 2 games in hand and they remain unbeaten this season.

The defending champions will return in action on the 8th of January 2019 when Onduparaka FC whereas Bright stars will have to wait until the 10th to visit Tooro United.
