Sharif Bogere claimed another victory in Las Vegas winning his lightweight bout against Arturo Reyes Santos on unanimous decision.

The first four rounds seemed calm as both fighters took a little time to study each other, however, Sharif was too patient and kept the game played at his pace throwing a number of jabs towards the Mexican.

Arturo Reyes will count himself a tough man to have withstood to the final bell as the Ugandan dominated and out classed him all through

Bogere’s continuous attacking combinations paid him off in the 7th round as he sent Arturo to canvas but he beat the count and got back on his feet.

Sharif looked more determined going into the final rounds as he pinned Arturo against the ropes with more rapid punches looking for that K.O but the Mexican proved too tough to fall.

99-91, 100-90 and 100-90 again the judges scores read all in favour of Sharif Bogere who had this to say after the fight,

“I am so thankful for this opportunity and getting the victory. I am not 100% where I want to be, but I feel like I am getting closer to where I need to be to get to that championship level. This fight I felt stronger, faster, and it showed in the ring,” said the Champ.

Speaking about this defeat, the Mexican explained how the weight cost him the fight,

“This fight I came in heavier, which made it harder for me to move around like I am used to,” Reyes said. “It was difficult for me to attack, he was the better fighter tonight. Next time around, I have to take camp more seriously and lose the weight so I don’t have this issue again” said Arturo Reyes.

The win pushes and secures a Lightweight title shot for Sharif Bogere who had this to say after the fight.
