BIKA FOOTBALL: Ffumbe whitewash Butiko, Nkima edge Mmamba Gabunga

Ffumbe and Nkima moved a step closer to this year’s Bika football semi finals after picking up victories against Butiko and Mmamba Gabunga respectively at Wankulukuku.

In the 2pm kick off, Ffumbe continued with their fine form pummeling Butiko 7-0 thanks to double hat tricks from Martin Kizza “Lubwama” and Solomon Walusimbi. Budding forward Kigozi Andrew Samson scored the other, a beauty after beating forest of Butiko defenders and their keeper.

Martin Kizza currently leads the top scorers’ board with 7 goals scored from 3 games. His team mate Solomon Walusimbi comes second with 5 goals.

A Robert Sentongo inspired Nkima team beat Mmamba Gabunga 3-1 in the 4pm kick off to put on leg in the semi finals.

Record champions Mmamba Gabunga have a huge task of overturning a 3-1 deficit

Robert Sentongo opened the scoring with an exquisite header off a well delivered cross from his namesake Robert Sentongo Junior few minutes to the half hour mark.

Mmamba Gabunga responded through KCCA’s marksman Patrick Kaddu whose beautifully curved free kick beat the Nkima wall and the keeper to send the fans into a frenzy.

Come into the second half, Robert Sentongo Junior formerly at Masavu FC, made it 2-1 with another tight angle finish before Substitute Edward Mugerwa killed off the game deep in the dying minutes from a Mmamba Gabunga defensive howler.

The four teams will play the quarter final return leg in a weeks time at the same venue.

The Bika football tournament resumes on Wednesday 11th July with Ngo taking on Mpindi and Mmamba Kakoboza locking horns with Mbogo.
