BIG LEAGUE: Blacks Power, Maroons eye summit as Luweero battle for safety

The FUFA Big League resumes after a week’s break with five games on match day 18.

Second placed Blacks Power target top of the table when they host already relegated Nyamityobora FC at Aki Bua Stadium in Lira

Blacks Power are currently second with 31 points same as leaders Kyetume FC. The Slaughters have no game today.

Nyamityobora FC are only left to play for pride, they have so far managed only nine points from 17 games.

Maroons FC will entertain struggling Kitara FC at Luzira Prisons.

The Prison Warders sit fourth on the table with 29 points same as third placed Kataka FC.

Kitara FC have suffered to get positive results this season, they are seventh with 21 points and seem not so safe from relegation.

Victory can help Maroons FC go top of the summit in case Kataka FC and Blacks Power FC suffer defeats.

Kataka FC hosts Calvary FC at Mbale Municipal Stadium also targeting top of the summit.

Calvary FC is fifth with 23 points and despite victory they will only maintain their position.

It will be a relegation battle at Kosovo grounds as Luweero United hosts MYDA FC.

Both teams are in the relegation zone, Luweero United is ninth on the table of 11 with 19 points.

MYDA FC is a position below Luweero United and have managed to collect 11 points from 16 points.

Luweero United stand a chance to move out of the relegation zone in case of victory as they pray Proline FC, Kitara FC and Ndejje University lose their respective encounters.

MYDA will remain second last despite victory.

At the Arena of Visions in Ndejje it will be another battle for survival when Ndejje University hosts Proline FC.

The two sides are not safe either, Ndejje University is in the sixth position with 22 points.

Proline are a position above the relegation zone with 20 points.

Ezra Kaye Kizito is the leading scorer of the league with 11 goals.

He is followed by Proline FC’s Hakim Kiwanuka and Maroons FC’s Fred Amaku on ten goals.

At the end of the season three teams will be promoted to the Uganda Premier League and three relegated to their respective regional clubs.
