The summoned team consists of 31 players and will be under Simon James Yor who was named as the new U-23 coach on Wednesday.

Striker Emmanuel Loki formerly of Buddo SS, had his debut season in the Uganda Premier League with Soltilo Bright Stars last season.

Former Busoga United left back Julius Debbo is also among the squad but currently plays for Malakia FC in the South Sudan League.

The CECAFA U23 tournament will kick off on 17th July. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Sudan contingent was delayed in Qatar where they had gone for a FIFA Arab Cup encounter against Oman.

The contingent left Qatar on Wednesday night but three unrevealed players were left in quarantine.
