Bevis Mugabi joins Motherwell FC in Scotland

Scottish topflight side Motherwell has signed Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi on a short term employment contract.

Motherwell will be Mugabi’s home until January 2020.

He has been playing his professional football with England’s National league side Yeovil Town Football club. Mugabi began his youth career at English sides Fulham and Southampton.

The defender impressed at the 2019 AFCON tournament as the Uganda Cranes made it to the knockout phase for the first time since 1978.

He becomes the second Ugandan to play in the Scottish top tier after David Obua who featured at Hearts.

Motherwell finished in eighth place on the Scottish Premier League table with 51 points last season.

This season they are fifth on the log with seven points in four games, they next Hearts on Saturday.
