Bengo replaces Kizito as Golola’s assistant at Tooro United

He started his coach career at Wakiso Giants where he was appointed on interim basis after the departure of Kefa Kisala


Steven Bengo has joined Tooro United FC as the club’s new assistant coach following the departure of Denis Kizito “Denol”.

Bengo is now the new immediate deputy of Edward Golola who is the club’s head coach.

The former Uganda Cranes midfielder spent last season on the fringes after leaving Wakiso Giants.

It was at Wakiso Giants that Bengo started his coaching career when took charge of the Purple Sharks on an interim basis during the 2019/20 season.

He is a former SC Villa, KCCA, URA FC and Express player who also featured for Soana, Wakiso Giants, Atraco (Rwanda) and Tanzania’s Yanga SC and Africa Lyon among others.

Tooro United earned direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League after topping the Rwenzori Group table with 31 points from 14 games played.

They will face off with Elgon Group winners Arua Hill on Tuesday to determine which side emerges as the overall champions of the 2020/21 FUFA Big League.
