The National Basketball league is back and will officially kick off this Friday, April 12th with two games JKL Lady Dolphins Vs KCCA Leopards in the Women’s category while last season’s finalists in the Men’s category, Betway Power and City Oilers will take stage too at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
During the league launch held at UOC offices in Lugogo FUBA President Nasser Sserunjogi said that he expects a competitive Basketball season.
“We are officially opening the National Basketball league and we expect to have a great and competitive season this year. Every club has prepared well and we are only looking forward to an exciting basketball season.
“This season we shall be awarding the best player of the game as well as the player of the month.”
“The fans will have a discount of 55% for seasonal tickets with each at Sh500,000 for regular season and Sh150,000 for playoffs”.
Four teams were promoted from division one to the NBL including Kampala University Eagles and Falcons in the men’s category while Makerere Sparks and YMCA Lady Hamsters Women were added to Women’s and they will be looking to be part of the party.
Six time league champions Falcons return to the topflight just after a season in division one for the first time while MUK Sparks also return to the big stage.
