Ssekajja joined the cranes camp yesterday to help Basena

Uganda will host Egypt at Mandela National Stadium tomorrow and the team camp is now at full house with the arrival of Ibrahim Ssekajja who was appointed by the federation to assist interim coach Moses Basena.
Basena says he is much excited by the arrival of the former Cranes captain as he( Ssekajja) will help the team in many aspects.
“We are excited by the arrival of the former captain Ssekajja , i requested the federation to have him and they worked on his arrival because he can help us in many aspects, he can help in the modern way of football, the skills , the motivation factor because the players look up to him as somebody who has gone through football ranks and he has succeeded and is up there so when he comes home finds these youngsters and i try think its a big plus for us”.
Basena also emphasised the need to be very vigilant and alert for the entire 90 minutes
” We need to be focused from the first minute to the last because big teams like the Egyptians would want only one moment to kill you off that’s why we saying we need to be alert from minute one to the last minute “.
He also recalls that the team has in the past had a very good defensive record but was quick to remember the team conceded easily in Rwanda recently and he promised the team would work upon that.
“The Uganda Cranes has in the past been so solid defensively but when we went to Kigali we conceded through set plays and we need also to convert the chances we make, so when we improve on our convertional rate it will be good for us“.
He concluded by calling upon the fans to fill the 45000 seater Stadium on Thursday.
” We are appealing to every football loving Ugandan to come and support the team that we promise we are not going to disappoint them. We’ve been very strong at home and we believe we are going to keep the same and we ate demanding that twelveth person to come and join us on Thursday “.
