The Cranes interim coach Moses Basena has confirmed he applied for confirmation on the job he took a few months ago when his boss Multin Micho resigned for greener pastures in South Africa.
Speaking to the media after the Cranes second day of training ahead of the game against Congo Brazzaville, Basena stressed that he was not on pressure to perform in order to be fully appointed but he confirmed that he applied for the job.
“Am not in any way taken off by the administration levels by the pending appointment of the national team coach because in the first place ,i did not lobby to be the Cranes interim coach”
“Mine is to continue performing to the best of my ability for everybody to see and the results will judge me and that is upon the appointing authority, upon FUFA to see what i must tell you is that am one of the applicants and that’s it”.
Moses Basena took over the mantle as the Cranes interim coach in July after Milutin Micho resigned as head coach to look for greener pastures at Orlando Pirates in SouthAfrica.
