SC Villa head coach Moses Basena has decried the lack of strength in his squad and the lack of quality for his team’s failure to match Vipers in their 3-1 defeat.
During a post match conference after the 3-1 defeat to Vipers SC, Moses Basena also identified a weakness in his offensive department which if not worked upon soon, tough times await his team.
“Our major problem is that we are limited in playing staff, the players at my disposal are a little bit below standard. We need to find away to improve in our attack, we need to take the chances that are created and also start to close down opponents.”
Despite defeat, Basena however managed to picked out some positives from the general display.
“The positive thing we did is that we tried to keep the ball and play though we could have avoided the goals that we conceded.
“We were wanting in the final third, Ssemujju runs down people but he fails to deliver. Even our captain Kirya was not creative enough and that’s why we had to substitute him.”
It should be noted that the only recognized striker that Basena bought is not available for selection due to licencing frailties.
Extraordinary things need to be done if there is any hope for resuscitation, but as it standards the record Ugandan champions are facing tough times. They next host Sam Ssimbwa’s URA FC on Tuesday 30th October.
