Basangwa joins Gaddafi on loan from Vipers

Vipers SC have loaned forward Richard Basangwa to Gaddafi FC until the end of the current campaign.

Basangwa made his Uganda Premier league debut with Vipers in December, 2020 at St.Mary’s Stadium.

The forward was also part of the Uganda U-20 team (Hippos) that clinched the CECAFA U-20 tournament in Tanzania.

He also made the U-20 Hippos team that finished as runners up in the U-20 AFCON that was staged in Mauritania last year. They lost to Ghana 2-0 in the final.

Basangwa is a product of St.Mary’s SS Kitende the feeder of Vipers senior team and in 2019 he won the Copa Coca-cola and FEASSA titles with the school in Jinja and Arusha respectively.

Vipers SC also loaned defender Jacob Okao to UPDF FC. The Kitende outfit also boosted their squad with Hilary Mukundane, Bob Olouch and Frank Tumwesigye Zaga.

Basangwa’s new club Gaddafi is currently 8th on the Uganda Premier league table.
