Bamweyana exits SC Villa after five months in charge

SC Villa head coach Douglas Bamweyana has reportedly been shown the exit door at SC Villa following a disappointing home loss to Tooro United on Tuesday.

The tactician who was only appointed in late November last year has  failed to lift SC Villa to the desirable standards.

Swift Sports sources understand that the feat has befallen him after a player revolt following a deteriorating relationship between him and some of the senior players.

It’s reported that a meeting was convened yesterday and most of the players decided against the return to training ground of their embattled coach.

Assistant Simon Mugerwa conducted last evening’s training session and he is expected to take charge of the final match against Nyamityobora, where Villa only need to avoid defeat to ensure safety.

It should be remembered that before Bamweyana took over from Basena, Villa had failed to win a single game under Moses Basena having only picked four points.

His debut game was a 2-1 victory over Nyamityobora and went on to collect 29 more points and six victories including derby win over Express Fc and a famous 3-1 defeat of Vipers SC at St Mary’s Stadium
