The 2019 Taibah Schools tournament has been officially launched today at Taibah Junior school, Kawempe. The three day event will start on Friday 15th March to Sunday 17th at MTN Arena, Lugogo.
Taibah International Schools has injected 8 million in this year’s competition
According to Simon Mugabi the CEO of the Uganda Badminton Association the competition is expected to attract a big number of schools.
He also applauded the sponsors Taibah International Schools.
“We are delighted that today we have launched the Taibah schools tournament. We expect a big turn up of young talented boys and girls to showcase their talents.
“I thank our main sponsors Taibah International Schools for the support and we are looking forward at identifying new talents in the game of Badminton.”
On behalf of Taibah International Schools Hajat Madina Mugenyi says the tournament helps the students to also excel in the sports activities besides academics
“We as Taibah International Schools, we believe a student should not only excel in the academic aspects but we also consider their talents.”
We expect our schools to perform well and we are looking forward for a great competition.”
The participants will compete in the following categories the Juniors Under 10, 13, 15 and 19. The will also be teams events. Mbogo High were the winners in last year’s Girls events whereas Kibuli SS walked away with the boys championship.
