Vipers tactician Miguel Duarte da Costa has blamed the bad state of the pitch at Bright stars’ champions Stadium for his team’s failure to win.

Bright stars and Vipers played to a goalless draw but both Kajoba and Miguel were in criticism of center referee Denis Batte’s poor officiation.

” I must be disappointed with my team because we created a lot of chances but failed to convert any, the state of the pitch was very bad and couldn’t permit our possessional game, we couldn’t pass and neither could we take control of the game.

” The referee too made our job difficult, in the first half he issued out a red card to an opponent which promoted them to commit 10 men behind the ball. I think the red card wasn’t appropriate, it should have been a caution, he also failed to give us our penalty when their defender handled the ball in the area. But in all, I am proud of my players not because they failed to score but because they fought and gave their all”.

Vipers SC will host BUL FC on Friday 15th at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende for their 2nd game of the league .
