Aziz Damani clinch fourth straight UCA Super Cup

Aziz Damani clinched the Uganda Cricket Association Super Cup for a fourth consecutive time after easing past Ceylon Lions on Saturday at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The curtain raiser was between 2019 Division one winners Damani and Division II Champions Ceylon Lions.

Aziz Damani managed 191 for 4 in 20 overs against Ceylon Lions’ 94 for 6 in 20 overs.

Man of the match Kenneth Waiswa scored a quick unbeaten 62 run off 30 balls with nine boundaries that had five sixes to inspire Damani to victory.

Simon Sesazi also contributed to the score with 41 runs from 28 balls that comprised of five boundaries (three 4s and two 6s).

Roger Mukasa and Riazat Ali Shah were the other performers for Aziz Damani as they managed 35 and 32 runs respectively.

Meanwhile, the Men’s 50 Over Division one League will kick off in Sunday with Wanderers taking on SKLPS in Entebbe whereas Nyakasura and Damani Development II meet at Lugogo in the second division game.

Aziz Damani will kick off their season against Kutchi Tigers on February, 27th at Lugogo while Ceylon will take on ACC on the same day in Entebbe.

The winners of the Uganda Cricket Association Super Cup smiled with Shs5m whereas runners up Challengers were rewarded with Shs3m.
