Azam FC have officially unveiled Kenyan midfielder Kenneth Muguna as their fifth signing in the ongoing transfer window.
Muguma has signed a two year contract with the Tanzanian side to complete his move from Kenyan side Gor Mahia.
” Azam are delighted to announce the signing of Kenya international winger Kenneth Muguna on a two year contract and he is arriving from Gor Mahia,” Reads a statement from the club.
Muguna who has previously played for Western Stima and Albania’s FK Tirana, opted to leave Gor Mahia with his contract bound to expire in October.
The Harambee Stars midfielder was signed ahead of Uganda’s Said Kyeyune who has been a free agent since leaving Sudan’s El Merreikh in April.
The Ice Cream Makers have also handed $15,000 to Muguna to pay the fine he got from CAF following his unsporting conduct during Gor Mahia’s match against Napsa Stars in Zambia.
Azam has already signed the Zambian trio of Paul Katema (Red Arrows), Charles Zulu (Cape Town City) and striker Rodgers Kola from Zanaco.
They have also unveiled Tanzania’s left back Edward Manyama from Ruvu Shooting.
Azam will represent Tanzania in the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third on the league table behind winners Simba SC and second placed Yanga SC.
Azam is the home to Uganda Cranes duo of Nicholas Wadada and goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya.
