AUPL: UPDF stretches Express FC’s poor run

By: David Gombe

UPDF Fc got their first win of the 2017/18 Azam Premier league sesson with a 1-0 win over Express on Saturday 23rd September at Bombo Barracks play ground.

It was not a match full of chances created in the first period of the game, with the first 45 minutes ending in a goalless stalemate.
In the second half Ezekiel Katende capitalized on a loose ball in the 18 yards box to make it 1-0 and his second of the campaign.

Express tried all that they could after the introduction of veteran striker Dan Mzee Sserunkuma who came on for debutant Jose Maria Lubega since completing his move from Sweden but couldn’t find away through thus losing a second game in succession.

The loss also leaves Douglas Bamweyana’s Express Fc in 15th place and are yet to score a league goal in over 270 minutes.
UPDF Fc on the other side, the win over 6time league champions now puts them in 6th place after three games played in the 2017/18 season.
