Moses Basena’s UPDF FC frustrated KCCA to a 1-1 draw at Bombo barracks grounds subjecting the holders to a second consecutive stalemate.

KCCA came in this fixture after playing a goalless draw at home against newly promoted side Maroons FC on Tuesday while UPDF had succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of URA at Namboole.

Mike Mutebi had Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and striker Patrick Kaddu come into the first line up while his compatriot Basena made only one change from the team that faced URA with Walulya Derrick coming in for Nakyenalire Robert.

KCCA took the lead in the 41st minute through midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba who capitalised on a Paul Mucureezi cross from the right to beat Harrison Sempagi in the UPDF goal flat footed.

2 minutes into the second half, Katende Ezekiel leveled matters for the army side scoring with an exquisite rebound off a well laid cross from Derrick Walulya.

However in the 58th minute, KCCA won a penalty after right back Yasin Mubiru pulled striker Kaddu Patrick in the box but Nsibambi Derrick missed it when he blasted the ball over the bar.

KCCA exerted more pressure on the hosts through attempts from Kaddu and Nsibambi but could not produce a winner whereas Godfrey Wakaza almost found the net only to miss from close range.

KCCA will play Onduparaka in the next match on Tuesday at Lugogo while UPDF will play host to wounded Express next Saturday.
