Onduparaka returned to winning in ways with a narrow 1-0 win over Kirinya Jinja SSS Fc at Betway greenlight stadium in Arua.
In the 21st minute, the referee awarded the home side a penalty kick following a foul on Vianne Ssekajugo in the forbidden area, Nicholas Ssebwato stood up for the task and calmly converted home to put the caterpillars in front.
In the second stanza, both sides made changes with Onduparaka introducing on Gaddafi Gadinho, Kabon living, Rashid Agau for Gaddafi Wahab, Alfred Leku and Ezra Bida respectively.
Fred Amaku and Joel Madondo came on for the visitors in places of Ibrahim Kayiwa and Isaac Ntege. Kirinya looked for the leveller but couldn’t find a way through an organized and well commanded defence of man of the match Sabir Simba.
Having been booked earlier, Kirinya ‘s Joel Madondo was sent off for diving in the closing stages of the game.
Vianne Ssekajugo, Ezra Bida and Denis Andama all were booked for the hosts.
The win for the west Nile side ended their four match game winless run, having drawn thrice and lost once in the previous league games. They had last won at Express Fc the memorable 2-1 win.
The win takes Onduparaka to 4th position with 19 points while Kirinya Jinja SSS Fc are 8th on the log with 14 points.
The Arua outfit next face a trip to Sc Villa for the mouthwatering encounter at Masaka recreation grounds on Tuesday whereas Kirinya Jinja SSS Fc next play UPDF on the same day.
