Simon Sserunkuma did not even make the match day squad with Bbosa opting for Ambrose Kirya in a midfield diamond formation.

Police were playing their first game of the season after their would be opening game being aborted by the match officials for failure of Masavu to present player licenses on time.

SC Villa dominated the first half with a series of chances but new striker George Senkaaba failed to capitalise on Police’s shaky defending in the opening stages to put his side in the lead.

Villa finally broke the deadlock towards half time when Godfrey Lwesibawa connected well with a perfectly delivered cross from live wire Allan Kyambadde in the 35th minute.

Enter the second half, Police returned a different team, Juma Balinya and Albert Mugisa creating all sorts of problems for the Villa defence and in the 76th minute, their dominance bred fruits when substitute Hood Kaweesa who had come on for Norman Ojik found the equaliser at the end of a well built run by the impressive Juma Balinya.

Villa’s Bbosa introduced Abdul Malik Vitalis Tabu, Martin Kizza and Alex Kitata to salvage a win but it was only Kitatta who came close to making an impact but he missed a sitter with the goal at his mercy in the dying minutes of the match.

SC Villa ‘s next step will be a visit to giants vipers SC in Kitende on Saturday 24th September, whereas Police will host Proline FC at Mandela National Stadium on 21st September 2017.
