On the back of their hard fought 2-1 win against in form Police FC at Kakyeeka Stadium on Saturday, The Ankole Lions travel to Kavumba in search for their first away points of the season.

Soana have only registered one win this term and they will look to build on their impressive point earned from their visit to Vipers SC thanks to Baker Buyala’s goal.

Hillary Mukundane, the man who scored Mbarara’s winner against Police is optimistic that he will build on his first goal to drive the team past Soana. He says,

” I am excited about having registered my name on the scoreboard for the first time and I hope to build on that for more confidence”.

Mbarara city have not scored a goal on the road having lost 3-0 to Proline and 1-0 to SC Villa, Head coach Vialli Bainomugisha is however adamant that poor record will not be a reason to worry about heading into the Soana visit.

“Our focus is now on our next game against Soana and we hope to address our poor away form, we hope to do better than before.” He said

The two teams will be meeting for their first ever time in the league but Soana will play their second game with no head coach after the resignation of Shafiq Bisaso.

Soana lie 14th on the log with 5 points whereas Mbarara city are in the top half of the table with 8 points.
