AUPL MATCH PREVIEW: Bottom placed Masavu host Maroons

Bottom Masavu FC play hosts to 12 placed Maroons FC in round 7 of the Azam Uganda premier league at Fisheries Institute in Bugonga.

This Will be the second meeting between the two sides and it will be a repeat of the FUFA big league final of last season where Maroons emerged champions defeating Masavu 2-1 at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo. Patrick Kaddu and Solomon Walusimbi scored for Maroons cancelling out Onesmus Andama’s goal who had given Masavu an early lead.

Masavu will be looking for their first home win since joining the top flight having lost to Vipers SC 0-2, 0-1 to Kirinya Jinja SS and the Police game which wasnt played.

Masavu will put their trust in Abraham Ndugwa, Veron Ddamba and Ddumba Sadala to look for their first home win while Andama Onesmus, Charles Odeke, Nickodemus Ikesot, Lomolo Peter Joseph Nkabirwa are sidelined with injuries whereas Lawrence Bakilanze is down with malaria.

Both teams come in tomorrow’s game after drawing their previous games, Maroons drew 1-1 with Sc Villa at Luzira Prisons with Patrick Gonahasa scoring for Maroons in the dying minutes while Masavu got a point from UPDF in Bombo game ending 2-2 with UPDF equalising in the late minutes of the game in a would have been a Masavu win.

Masavu lies last on the table with 4 points as Maroons is 12th with six points. A win for Masavu will push them away from the relegation zone as a loss pushes Maroons FC to the relagation zone.
