Police fight back from a goal down to edge Vipers SC in a closely contested affair between two title favourites.
Vipers head coach Miguel Da Costa made some surprise changes to his starting line up by naming youngster Hassan Kalega, Baden Mujahid and Congolese striker Mbayi Clovis
The move looked to have paid off and by half time, Vipers were the better side with some fluid movement and possessional play but they were unable to make it count at the break.
Milton Karisa broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a thunderous strike on the near post of Douglas Kisembo who to some extent is blamed for his failure to close down the space.
Police coach Abdallah Mubiru reacted by substituting the neutralised Albert Mugisa and Gift Ali for Yasin Mugume and Rahmat Ssenfuka.
His move paid off in the 68th minute when Hood Kaweesa pounced on Dan Birikwalira’s miscalculated back pass to slot home past a helpless Ismael Watenga.
The cops continued to press for a winner and they found it 4 minutes later through their day’s hero Hood Kaweesa who lipped higher than Shafiq Bakaki to meet Ben Ochen’s cross.
Miguel Da Costa made a double substitution of Erisa Sekisambu and Mukwala Steven for Hassan Kalega and Mbayi Clovis respectively but their efforts could not yield the much needed equaliser.
This leaves KCCA FC as the only team yet to taste defeat this season and propels Police FC to the summit of the log with 11 points from 5 games.
