The new look Express FC will rekindle their survival fight tomorrow against the Caterpillars

Express football club kick-start a tough campaign of beating the drop with a long trip to the West Nile to take on Onduparaka FC at the Greenlight stadium on Saturday 10th February.

The 6-time champions who have lost their previous 5 league games on back to back succession, are tottering at the negative end of the table following a catastrophic first half of the season.

Onduparaka has emerged the dominant side in the previous three encounters between the two sides winning twice and drawing the other. The most recent fixture ended 2-1 at Wankulukuku in a match decided by a Ceaser Okhuti 92nd minute volley kick.

Ceaser Okhuti scored a dramatic late goal to steal victory for Onduparaka in the first round at Wankulukuku

Express are poor travelers having secured only 3 points from the 7 games they have played away from Wankulukuku. They face an Onduparaka side that has a prestigious home record. The caterpillars have 4 wins and 3 draws in the 7 games they have hosted this season.

The Caterpillars will miss out on the services of hard tackling anchor man Ivan Mboowa who is suspended due to accumulated bookings. Skipper Rashid Toha is also sidelined with injury.

Ibrahim Faizul “Anini” will replace Mboowa while Muhammad Rashid is expected to partner with Simba Sabir in the central defence in the absence of Toha.

Midfielder Davis Mayanja is doubtful for Express whereas defenders Bwogi Edgar and Ronnie Kisekka are ruled out injured. Julius Ntambi and Shafik Nana Kakeeto are expected to earn their debuts having crossed from URA FC and Nyamityobora respectively.

Alfred Leku who will be facing his former side, together with Isaac Kisujju Onyango are expected to fill the void left Daniel Muzeyi Serunkuma who joined Vipers last month.

Onduparaka head coach Livingstone Mbabazi will rely on Vianey Sekajugo, Kabon Living, Gaddafi Gadinho and new signings Malish Jamal and Yafesi Mubiru in the attacking department.

Express are second last from the bottom and a win can possibly move them a place higher whereas Onduparaka are 4th on the table with 25 points garnered from 15 games.
