Asaph Mwebaze enraged by “terrible” refereeing during Maroons’ loss to BUL

Maroons head coach Asaph Mwebaze has expressed his disappointment at the way referees Mpyangu Siraje, Sadiq Wasswa and Mwesigwa handled their game.

He was later sent off the touchline after growing furious and ultimately protesting against the decision to award BUL with what he referred to as a dubious penalty.

“It was as if we were in a play and all the actions ¬†were rehearsed and scripted.”

“We are on such a ground, the referee doesn’t allow the game to be played and everything is influenced”

He further accused the competition committee of wrongly appointing referees to officiate on matches in which they have interest.

” I wonder why referees from the same region is appointed to work on a game as a team that needs 3 points. This was equivalent to circus, these team get penalties on their grounds but Maroons hasn’t gotten any yet we are one of the most attacking teams in the league.”

Maroons fell to their 4th defeat of the season and they remain 6th on the table. They will host Bright stars on the 4th of May 2018.
