Maroons FC were among the culprits of an early exit from the Uganda Cup at the hands of Minnows Water FC,  they are now basically out of contention for any silverware this season.

Head coach Asaph Mwebaze however refuses to blame his players for exit citing reasons of inactivity due to a long league lay off.  He says,

“It is very disappointing to be out on the round of 64 we thought we would have done better but we made one mistake and we conceded”

“It’s been a long break and many of our players are out i can only say we didn’t do enough. We are now settling to prepare for the league”,

Maroons fc fell to a disappointing 1 – 0 defeat to Big league side Water FC at Kyambogo University grounds in the round of 64 of this year’s Uganda Cup tournament.
