Arishe, Mandela return as Villa entertain Police

SC Villa will be seeking to return to winning ways when they entertain tricky Police FC today 27th February at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The last five league meetings between the two sides have seen Villa register only one win and the others have been stalemates.

Both sides played out to a 2-2 draw during their first round meeting this season with Juma Balinya scoring a brace while Bashir Mutanda and youngster Charles Lwanga who was later sent off netting for Villa.

Villa come into this contest after a 1-1 draw at BUL FC in the previous league game whereas Police held KCCA FC with a similar result at Lugogo.

The record champions are currently 12th on the log with 22 points garnered while the Cops lie 8th with 28 points accumulated in 20 games.

SC Villa will welcome back Asuman Alishe and skipper Ashiraf Mandela who missed the previous game through injury. They will look up to Pius Wangi who has scored four goals and assisted one in the last three games and Bashir Mutanda for inspiration.

Juma Balinya the current league goal scorer with 12 goals alongside Paul Willa, Pius Kaggwa and Johnson Odongo will be expected to guide the Cops to maximize points.

Maximum points will see Bamweyana’s charges leapfrog Bright Stars in 11th place whereas victory for the visitors can take them to 6th place.
