Apolot to defend international title against Argentine

Uganda’s female kickboxer Patricia Apolot will face off with Argentina’s Andrea Salazar.

Apolot will be defending her International title belt against the Argentine in the Super lightweight category on 23rd October in Cairo, Egypt.

Apolot is confident that she will successfully defend her World title

“I am very ready to defend my World title despite the hardships.” I am confident that I will have a successful fight like have always done previously. ”

The Kickboxer who won the World championship title in June 2015 after prevailing past Serbia’s Ivana Mirkov in Hungary thanked Kampala Central Mayor Salim Uhuru Nsubuga who supported her with a financial support of $5000.

“I take this opportunity to thank Mayor Salim Uhuru for supporting me to prepare for this fight.” He has tremendously supported the sports fraternity and I pray the almighty rewards him.”

Uhuru revealed that he will continue soliciting funds to help develop sports in the country

“I will continue to solicit funds to help various sports people in the country.” Apolot came to me and I had talk to the council and I am grateful, they passed to resolution and supported her with over Shs17.5m.” Revealed Uhuru

Apolot has horrendously been affected with the outbreak of Covid-19, spending the last two years without a fight.

Her previous fights were against Kenyan Joyce Awino and WKF European champion Adrian Tatu in 2019.
