Allan Okello breaks the silence on the looming Ajax Amsterdam move

Reports about the possible move of KCCA youngster Allan Okello to Ajax Amsterdam have dominated the Ugandan press today and created a lot of excitement among KCCA fans and the football fraternity at large.

It’s believed that KCCA FC and the player’s representatives have opted for Ajax Amsterdam FC a club that plays in the Dutch Eredivise because they think it would offer better development opportunities to the player and longer term benefits to KCCA FC. Ajax are well documented as one of the best clubs renowned for talent grooming and development across Europe , they are regarded as the biggest talent hub of Europe.

When Swift Sports approached him, the laid back youngster  did not quash the reports but he insists that nothing conclusive  has been reached as yet. He says,

” I am of course excited about Ajax’s interest in me because they are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and it is every aspiring footballer’s dream to be on their radar”.

“But i am still contracted to KCCA, they have shown great confidence in me and they gave me the platform to exhibit what i  can offer to the game, I am still young and developing and will always wait to see what my club and representatives decide for me” .

“My agent has been in negotiations with numerous clubs and when the best offer comes i will weigh it up. He is as well in talks with Ajax and i  hope everything goes well”.

By the time of this conversation Allan Okello had just finished training with his school team and he was rushing to go and attend evening classes, he concluded

” Currently i am concentrating on my education as i am currently in form six and preparing for exams. Preparation for the new premier league season with my club are soon commencing so let’s hope for the best”. 

Okello has previously played for the Northern Region in the famous U-17 Airtel Rising Stars, he is a product of Destiny Soccer Academy in Lira whom he represented  before crossing over to Kibuli S.S from where he joined the KCCA FC U17. He earned his senior debut in the 7-0 drubbing of Onduparaka FC in a match where he scored a hat trick.
