All set ahead of the 15th edition of the Kampala International FICTS Festival

The Festival is organised in the framework of the World FICTS challenge by FICTS Uganda chaired by Dean Kibirige in collaboration with UBC and the National Council of Sports.

FICTS Uganda aims to spread of knowledge and diffusion of sport movies and videos that, in different languages and different production forms contribute to the development of the artistic and culture tendencies in the TV World and movies.

The Festival is open to all television, movie and new media productions dealing with sports or having sport in all its different expressions and manifestation as their main subject.

The African continent has come to great lengths, including through this event dedicated to cinema and sports television to the diffusion of cultural and sporting values underlying the FICTS statute.

This year the opening ceremony will be held on Monday, 18th October with the closing ceremony scheduled for Wednesday at Tal Cottage in Rubaga.

Mathias Rukundo the President Uganda Journalists Association will grace the opening ceremony while the closing ceremony by NCS General Secretary Dr. Bernard Ogwel.

A special moment will be dedicated to the late Dr.Andrew Luwandagga founder of the Kampala Festival. The APL mentorship Award which will be given to the most outstanding person or institution that has contributed greatly to the development of sport locally and on the international scene.

Entries are from over 21 Countries: Uganda, Vietnam, Czech Republic, USA, Italy, Austria, France, P.R. of China, UK, Norway, Finland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Nepal, Belgium, Mexico, Iran, Germany, Israel, Sweden.
