Ugandan left back Alex Kakuba has left Greek Super League side PAS Giannina FC 5 months after crossing over from Portugal on a two year deal.
The Greek club has officially released Kakuba following a mutual agreement with the player.
” The PAE PAS GIANNINA 1966 announces the end of co-operation, with mutual consent, with footballer Alex Kakuba. His team wishes good continuity in his football career with health and success.” Said the club statement
The left footed defender had joined PAS Giannina from CD Feirense last July and garnered a total of 7 match appearances, 5 of which have been in the league.
However it is also understood that the former Proline FC player is currently in Portugal, a country where he has spent 6 years since leaving Uganda in 2012.
While in Portugal, Kakuba has featured for Esperança Lagos, Desportivo De Agueda, Sporting Covilha, Estoril Praia and CD Feirense between 2012-2018.
Kakuba has also had a handful of appearances in the national team colours with the recent coming in the goalless draw against Malawi in a friendly match at Namboole early this year.
