Akol salvages a point as SC Villa and Maroons share spoils


Bashir Mutanda denied SC Villa a chance to earn their 2nd win of the season when he failed to convert from the spot.

Pius Obuya had put Maroons in the lead in the 32nd but 7 minutes later Bashir Mutanda levelled matters through a long range shot outside the eighteen yards box finding shot stopper Emmanuel Akol off his line.

Solomon Walusimbi was withdrawn for Seif Batte by George Nsimbe.

Yusuf Mukisa, David Owori and Ashraf Mandela of SC Villa were all cautioned in the 21st, 80th and 86th minutes respectively.

A point moves the Jogoos to 10th with 8 points as Maroons is 13th one position from the drop with 7 points.

Mutanda is now joint top scorer with 6 goals after scoring in each of SC Villa’s most recent five games.

SC Villa will be back in action on Tuesday as they pay a visit to Ndejje University at Arena of Visions as Maroons will play against.
