AIRTEL RISING STARS : She Kataka successfully defends Eastern Region girls title

She Kataka from Mbale edged Town View Bugiri on penalties to defend the Eastern Region Girls title in the finals of the 2019 Airtel Rising Stars at Soroti playgrounds.

She Kataka prevailed 5-3 on spot kicks after a goalless stalemate in normal play.

Beatrice Adukule, Catherine Namataka, Zabinah Namboozo, Halima Nambafu and Esther Nabonyo scored She Kataka penalties whereas Halima Babirye, Shakira Nakasango and Rashid Nanangu converted Town View’s kicks. Eunice Namusubo (Town View) missed from the spot.

During the semifinals, She Kataka humbled Yes Guard 3-0 while the losing finalists Town View defeated Sironko High way 1-0.

In the boys final, Busia trust clinched the title after excelling at the 2019 Airtel Rising Stars Eastern Regional boys championship.

The newly crowned Eastern region champions defeated Busia Trust 6-5 on penalties( game ended goalless in normal time).

In the semifinals, Busia Trust defeated Isaam Islamic 2-1 whereas True Vine won 1-0 to reach the finals.

16 boys teams and 8 girls teams took part in the three days championship in Soroti at various venues.
