The knockout phase of the Airtel Masaza cup draws closer, group A and B will have the final round of the group stages of this year’s competition contested.
Mawokota hosting Kyaddondo at Buwama is the game to watch with both teams aiming for top spot and ultimately a right to play in the quarterfinals.
Mawokota will miss the services of dependable midfielder Hamza Mulambuzi but the rest of the squad is available for selection. Assistant coach Richard Wasswa says,
“Both teams have chances of progressing, but we have prepared well apart from midfielder Hamza Mulambuzi who is injured, but the rest of the squad members are ready for the game.”
In the first meeting between the two sides at Lugogo, Kyaddondo edged Mawokota with a 2-0 win.
Wasswa’s men only need a win to book a spot in last eight while a draw will be enough for Kyaddondo to progress.
Still in the same group, Busiro host Butambala at Ssentema with Butambala needing only a point to confirm qualification for the quarter finals.
“We can get a win at Sentema, though a draw is also enough for us to reach the quarterfinals.” All players are in good conditions no injury worries”.
Said a confident Yusuf Baliluno the chairman technical Butambala.
Kyaddondo are top of group A with 12 points, Butambala second on 11 points followed by Busiro and Mawokota both on 10 points.
This gives open chances to whoever wins the games tomorrow to book a place in the next round .
In group B, Buddu who are assured of a place in the quarterfinals host Ssese at Masaka recreation. The competitions committee permitted Buddu to wear black arm bands in memory of their deceased assistant coach James Kisekka and two fans who lost their lives in an accident.
In the same group Kkooki who host Mawogola at Lwanda need a win to make the last eight.
Gomba, Ssingo, Buddu, Bulemeezi, Bugerere have already booked a place in the quarter finals
