The Airtel FUFA awards organizing committee led by chairman Rogers Byamukama has released the nominees in six categories.

This was revealed at the Press briefing held at FUFA house in Mengo on Wednesday.

Byamukama stated that last year the awards were not held due to the Covid-19 turmoil and limited activities

“We are excited again as we go into the high gear preparations for our long awaited Airtel FUFA awards. As we all know because of Covid we were not able to do last year’s edition and primarily of very little activities and considering that Airtel FUFA awards are about rewarding sporting excellence in a season so it wouldn’t make sense to just have awards when you have not had actors participate in footballing activities.”

This year, we were able to complete last season, we had International competitions for both male and female, so we thought it’s important to bring back that normalcy. ”

Byamukama added

“We have always rewarded both the male and female player of the year award winners with brand new cars and even this time the top two will take home a brand new car. The all the other winners will receive cash prizes.”
