Airtel donates football resources to five Kampala region schools

Airtel Uganda on Tuesday donated football resources like balls, goal poles and nets to five schools from Kampala Region.

The five schools that benefited from Kampala region are St.Julian High Gayaza, Emmanuel College Kazo, St.Mary’s Nabweru, Lubiri High and St.Andrew’s Kagwa, Kawaala.

The main objective is to encourage students to participate more in the telecommunication company youth programme Airtel Rising Stars football event.

Opata Nicholas, deputy headmaster St.Julian High thanked Airtel for identifying them

“We would like to appreciate Airtel for the football resources they have donated to us. We also thank them for identifying youngsters through their Airtel Rising Stars football tournament.”

We promise them that we shall also continue to grow football talents. We are to use the goal poles to construct another playground for the girls.”

Kiguba Paul, the headmaster Emmanuel College Kazo also appreciated the company for supporting football in the country

“We appreciate Airtel for sponsoring the game of football in the country. We thank them for the goal posts, nets and balls. We believe this will help improve our school team performances.” 

Airtel Public Relations Officer, Faith Fiona Bugonzi believes this will help the students engage more in football

“We are to give football resources to five schools from every region in the country. We believe this will continue to promote the game of football in the country as well as boosting the Airtel Rising Stars programme.” Said Bugonzi.

The activity will be done in the football regions such as Buganda Region, West Nile, Eastern Region, Kitara, North Eastern Region, West Region and Northern Region
