AFCON U23 Qualifiers : 23-man Kobs squad named for residential camp

A final 23-man squad for the Uganda Kobs has been named to enter residential camp at the FUFA technical center Njeru in Jinja.

The Uganda Kobs are in preparations ahead of the double legged AFCON U23 Qualifier against South Sudan with the first leg slated for Wednesday 14th November.

The team is under the tutelage of Wasswa Bbosa who is assisted by Charles Ayiekoh while Sadiq Wassa acts as the goalkeepers trainer.

The surprise inclusion is the foreign based youngster Trevor Semakula who plays from Weerebie City Stars FC in Australia.

Defenders: Musitafa Mujuzi (Proline FC), Hassan Musana (KCCA FC), Mustafa Kizza (KCCA FC), Rashid Toha (Onduparaka FC), Ronald Kigongo (URA FC), Paul Patrick Mboowa (URA FC), Geoffrey Wasswa (Vipers SC), Bashir Asiku (Vipers SC)

Midfielders: Lawrence Bukenya (KCCA FC), Abel Michael Eturude (Onduparaka FC), Julius Poloto (KCCA FC), Shafik Kuchi Kagimu (URA FC), David Owori ( SC Villa, Trevor Semakula (Weerebie City Stars FC), Mahad Yaya Kakooza (Tooro United)

The Kobs played a buildup game against the Cranes and lost 2-0 courtesy of goals from Emma Okwi and Viane Sekajugo.

The aggregate winner between Uganda and South Sudan will face off with Tunisia in the next round.
