Group B of the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon concluded with Senegal and Guinea qualifying for the round of 16 stage.
Despite an unconvincing performance, Senegal qualified as the group winners with five points from three games.
The Lions of Teranga were boosted by the return of Eduard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Nampalys Mendy, Famara Diedhiou and Fode Ballo Toure who recovered from COVID-19.
They were however held to a goalless draw by Malawi in the final group game played at Baffousam.
The other group game saw bottom placed Zimbabwe beat Guinea 2-1 in Yaounde.
Skipper Knowledge Musona and Supersport United’s Kudakwashe Mahachi scored for the Zimbabwe warriors in the first half.
Guinea scored a consolation through their skipper Naby Keita in the 49th minute.
Guinea and Malawi finished with four points each but were separated by goal difference with the former having an advantage having won their meeting 1-0.
Senegal, Guinea, Morocco, Gabon, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and hosts Cameroon are the teams that have so far qualified for the knock stage.
